Drs. Paul and Virginia Friesen are founders of Home Improvement Ministries, sponsors of Worth It. They have a passion for healthy, God-honoring relationships and have devoted their lives to encouraging individuals, couples, and families in experiencing God’s best in relationships. They have authored over 10 books and DVD series. They have three adult daughters, two son-in-laws, and five grandchildren Their greatest joy is knowing that their family walks in the truth.
Matthew and Shahrzad Slater: He is the all-pro special teams captain of the New England Patriots. She is a medical doctor. Together they dated and waited for four years before becoming husband and wife and honoring God’s design for becoming one. Their testimony is a powerful one of trusting God and honoring Him when teammates and friends thought they were crazy.
Jess Bousa is a church planter, author, speaker, and lead pastor of Restore Church in Havre de Grace, Maryland. He is a graduate of Teen Challenge Training Center, Inc. in Rehrersburg, Pennsylvania and holds two Master degrees from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, Massachusetts. He is also the author of The Discipleship Dare: Living Dangerously for God. Pastor Jess and Elizabeth live in the Havre de Grace area with their son, Caleb and daughter, Hannah.
If there were a single word to describe Nate Parks it would be “influential.” Nate has spent over 20 years investing in ministry as a pastor, director, and national speaker—encouraging, teaching, and leading. With his unique perspective and methods, he delivers messages that are fresh, funny, and insightful. Nate’s heart is to serve Christ by communicating the life-changing truths of the Bible with honesty and relevance. In addition to being the Executive Director of Berea, Nate serves as associate representative for New England to the National Network of Youth Ministries.
Lisa Friesen received her master’s in Exercise Physiology from James Madison University. She has served as an athletic trainer at both the high school and university level. Lisa was formerly the Athletic Trainer for the UCLA women’s basketball team, and she is now an assistant professor at California Baptist University in the Department of Health Science. She has a passion for helping students discover fullness of life in Christ.
Christopher and Dorothy Greco long to see the body of Christ both whole and holy. For the past twenty years, they have created and led long-term healing and discipleship programs in New England area churches. Christopher currently teaches drama at Lexington Christian Academy, leads worship in Calvary Chapel, and is almost finished with his master’s in counseling from Gordon Conwell (Praise God!). Dorothy divides her time between writing for publications such as Christianity Today and Relevant magazine and making photographs. Her first book, Making Marriage Beautiful, was published by David C Cook and released in January 2017. They have three sons and one amazing daughter-in-law.
Kate Wylie played for Division 1 Womens’ Hockey while at Brown University. She married figure skater and Olympic silver medalist Paul Wylie, and now lives in Charlotte, NC, with their three small children. Kate is passionate about helping young people struggle well with life choices.
Don and Betsy Hasselbeck will join the resource team for this year’s Worth It Conference. Don and Betsy have a powerful story of Don’s years in the NFL, his coming to Christ during that time, and their keeping their marriage strong and raising three sons that love the Lord. Don played for the New England Patriots for the first six seasons of his nine-year NFL career. 

Don and Betsy are the parents of former NFL quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, and Tim Hasselbeck, who both are currently football analysts.  Their third son, Nathanael, played football at Boston College and the University of Massachusetts as a defensive back.  Don and Betsy live in Norfolk, MA, and continue to be involved in ministering to NFL couples in the New England area.

Worth It is a one-day seminar designed to encourage and equip teens and parents towards God’s best in opposite-sex relationships. Through speakers and workshops you will discover that you are worth waiting for God's best. God's plan is worth the wait; God's gift of sex is worth the wait.

Join hundreds of parents and teens for this fun and informative day that likely will change your life and the way you look at God, yourself, and relationships.

Our youth face so many choices today. With the constant strain of often relentless peer pressure, it's hard for kids to make the right choices. H.I.M.'s youth programs and resources specifically address the choices facing them and how God would want us to make those choices.

For registrations postmarked on or before 4/3/2017:

$25 per person — $70 per family* maximum
$20 per person for groups of 10 or more

For registrations postmarked after 4/3/2017:

$30 per person — $85 per family* maximum
$25 per person for groups of 10 or more

*The Family ticket is good for up to 6 members of the same immediate family only. If you are bringing friends or guests, please purchase their tickets separately.

Cost includes all materials, lunch, and snacks. To receive the group rate, at least the initial 10 registrations must be sent in together.

Cancellation Policy:
Cancellation Policy: Cancellation of a registration by April 1, 2017, will result in a full refund less an administrative fee of $5 per single ticket or $15 per family ticket. No refunds will be given after April 1, but registrations are fully transferable to another attendee without penalty by calling the H.I.M. office at 781-275-6473 or sending an email to sue@HIMweb.org with the name change.

All minors must be accompanied to Worth It by a parent or other adult who has agreed to be responsible for them at the event.

Since we anticipate 400 attendees at this event, we are not equipped to have youth dropped off for the day, unsupervised. When you register, if you are purchasing a ticket for a minor without at the same time purchasing a ticket for the adult who will accompany him or her to the event, please be prepared to indicate the name and email address of the adult who will be responsible for your child at the event. Please also ask that person to email H.I.M. at sue@himweb.org to confirm that he/she is willing to assume responsibility for your child for the day.
